In Japan all tools need to be tethered. Everything has a loop on it somewhere so it can be secured. They really don't want you dropping tools on your coworkers.

As Army Rangers we called them, “Dummy Cords,” and we all used them on our, “must have,” gear. Speaking of which, when you’re the one “humping” everything you value/need for infil, during the op, and exfil, not many “unnecessaries” make the journey.
