Hi machining4all
What people have to understand we don't all have deep pockets and massive space to house every piece of machinery needed so we have to adapt ideas and equipment. So as far as I am concerned we make tools, jigs, fixtures and any other equipment to suit our needs and for our own projects and pleasure. By sharing on HMT it hopefully provokes thoughts on how to utilise ideas or simple help others with less experience. I have also stopped posting on HMT but have decided to give it another chance and I hope you do the same. My dividing head can do spiral milling but again a very expensive piece of tooling that not everyone would want to purchase.

I have done a lot of cool (and not so cool) things though. I was once helping folks document launching a 2000lb bomb down a sledtrack, through a 13' cube of steel-reinforced concrete, and then sectioning the recovered bomb in a ginormous power hacksaw. Pretty cool, but also pretty scary. That's when I learned a good maxim. "If the EOD guys are running, try to keep up!"
