    Threading Insert Tool Holder

I made this tool holder for holding a TNMC43NV carbide threading insert. The insert measures .187" thick with an I.C. of .500", it has a .200" diameter hole which is countersunk from both sides. This tool holder was machined on both sides to accept the insert on either or, With the ability to place the insert on either side of the tool lets me work closer to the chuck or closer to the tail stock of the lathe.

The tool was made from 0-1 steel, hardened, tempered, and ground all over,

    Hi Doug,

There is a very nice hand tapper tool shown in one of your photos. Did you make this tool? If so, did you post this somewhere so we can see how it was made.

    Thanks,

    Paul

    Doug,

Thanks for the URL. I would like to make a similar hand taper one of these days. I also like the way you insert text annotation in between the photos because it makes it so easy to follow along. I should do this on my posts.

    Regards, Paul
