Throwing a chunk of sodium into a river - GIF

When I was in high school (late 70's) a buddy of mines older brother and a friend of his stole a chunk from one of the science labs and flushed it down the toilet in the snack shack by the football field. I just happen to be about 50ft away when I saw them come running out of the rest room and about 5 seconds later there was this big ol' boom and the door flew open and a bunch of smoke came rolling out. That little incident brought the local cops the FBI and ATF all to our little high school.
