Tiny Hammer Form Buck for Model Car Wheel Tubs

I used to do a LOT of model building. Got out of it (mostly) in the early 90's. I was working on a Pro Street 37 Ford and wanted to make some aluminum wheel tubs for it so, this is what I came up with.
A pic of the car with the tubs installed. This is 1/24th scale.

This is the very simple hammer form buck I came up with.

Turned it up on the lathe...

With the hose clamp it really holds a strip of .010 thick aluminum tightly.

    Continued next post.

Rounding over the edge I go slow and sneak up on the full round over. Takes a few minutes to work it all the way over and keep the wrinkles to a minimum. Starting out with nylon hammer I finish up with a small brass hammer. This works out a lot of the wrinkles.

it does take some sanding and filing to smooth everything off but it looks pretty good when that is done. This still need finishing but they are well on their way.

    Thanks for looking.

Those are cool Mark, but to me what's really cool is the model. I thought I was looking at a full sized car that you were working on. Mind posting some more pix and maybe some info? Like is that all from scratch or is it part plastic model kit and part parts you fabricated like the tubs? Somebody posted some of their handmade models a while back and it was amazing. Thx for posting

Thanks for liking the model! I started building this one in 1992! This is pretty much how it sits 14 yrs later.

There is a lot of fab work in this one. Front and rear suspensions. 99% of the frame. The roll cage, etc.

The body was chopped, I raised the rear fenders a scale 6 inches, opened the doors and fabbed hinges and the front clip slides off. There is a working tilt steering column and the seats are mounted on working sliders...
These are all the pictures I have. Should I get more?
