Tire blowout demonstration - GIF

This might be a little different in context, but it remains to be fact concerning air pressure! I was a young boy in the 50s when my father and I were at a gas station/truck stop together getting fuel and there was a truck tire shop in this station and we were busy fueling up our new 1955 Ford station wagon, when we herd a very loud explosion. A split rim exploded from a truck tire and killing the person next the guy airing up the tire, no safety cages in those day's! What I saw was a man that had lost most of His chest on up, do to the split ring going through Him! it haunted me for several years! My father got a hold of me and dragged me back to the car. I still have thoughts about it when airing up a tire, the gas stations I would work at would not let us work on any split rims or large truck tires ever!
