Thank You Sir
Very nice done!
Doug I can't help but wonder, with all the very nice tools that you have been making do you make wooden boxes to store them in as well?
Many of these fine tools and fixtures surely deserve better than just being stored on a shelf in a cabinet
Thanks for your comments Frank
As a matter of fact at this moment that's where those tools are, in a wooden cabinet with felt on the shelves and a film of oil on them, I keep telling myself you need to make individual wooden boxes for your tools, or make a nice display cabinet with glass faced doors, I think I like the glass door cabinet instead of individual boxes.
I just retired this past March and the company I worked for would get this one material in that came in on pallets with a piece of 12mm plywood between the layers of material, well I collected about 30 pieces of this plywood, I have no idea where it came from but it has a beautiful veneer on both sides, the pieces measure 44" X 44", I have enough to make individual boxes or a large cabinet, I just don't know which way I want to go at this moment, but I am going to do something in the near future.
Thanks again Frank

Doug, I am revisiting this vise build because I'm thinking of duplicating it in aluminum. It will be traveling, on the road, and the goal is light weight with only modest holding power. I'm considering changeable jaws for different holding applications. I have studied your pics and I'm curious about the 3 holes on each side of the main body when it appears only two bolts fasten it. I don't see a location for dowels anywhere.
Since it was published 6 years ago! .... a pic is included. :)

Sorry about duplicate pics. I tried to erase one of them but it refuses to delete. One has been enlarged because the thumbnail was too small to see the detail of interest.
