Tool post riser
There are times when I don't need the compound on my lathe.
1. It seems to be a bit more rigid without it.
2. It can extend the distance between the tool bit and the work.
3. Makes a nice way to mount a tool post grinder for straight grinding.
Two are shown. One has two mounting holes for the tool post.
They can be positioned as needed.
Cheers, JR

jjr2001,
Very good idea and will come in handy. I have pondered making a round riser but I think your idea is more versatile.

Thanks,
They certainly come in handy (indispensable) when you need a bit more room to turn a larger part.
The extra rigidity is also a big plus.
