Tool Rest for an old Wood Lathe

This is a tool rest for an old German wood lathe. My father got the lathe for free, but some parts were missing.
I build the tool rest out of parts from the lathe and some metal from scrapyard.

    Thanks for posting that!
Ironically, all week I've been scratching my head thinking about how I was going to do this myself.
Trying to find, or, figure out how to fabricate, a cam operated type bolt (for quick clamp and release) of the sliding (banjo?) to the lathe bed.
    Thanks again.

Very interesting video with some excellent ideas. If you could just can the poor choice of "music". It's enough to drive a body nuts and takes away from the learning experience you are sharing.
