Tooling Plate Clamps

These straps and clamps can be used on either of my tooling plates:

I think I saw the idea for the eccentric clamps on this forum and it was posted by Rick Sparber. Thanks Rick.
The eccentric head of the hex screws push the little round clamp into the piece you want to hold. The part would be backed up against a steel reference bar. Very low profile.

The others are just toe clamps and some positioning bars that can be used for aligning work. I will need to drill one more hole (maybe a slot instead of a hole) in each alignment bar for a more secure setup but they do work as is for light work.

Also shown are a pair of 5 degree wedges which can be useful for setting parts up and a few T-slot nuts just made from 1018 steel for general setup use.

The 5 degree wedges look very useful for setups and tramming-in parts.

Hi Bill, I have used them when making wedge shaped part. If placed on top of a pair of parallels in the vise and then place the part that needs a 5 degree angle on it on top of the parallels you can mill a 5 deg angle on the new part and repeat the process for multiple parts.

For tramming in parts that have an angle on the part you can use the wedge for a spacer on the mill table and set the part parallel to the mill table.

I am sure there are more ways this handy little accessory can be used such as holding a part in a vise that already has a 5 deg angle on it. The wedge can be used against the vise jaw to provide a parallel clamping surface for holding the part.
