Not sure where that is, but it reminds we of a very important, seldom mentioned, problem developing here in the USA. Politicians never talk about it. They only mention roads, bridges, high speed internet for everyone, The green people talk of eliminating internal combustion engines, going all electric with transportation. They talk about solar and wind energy, but never consider how to distribute that energy.

I am not certain that this article is the solution but it is an interesting view of things. Ultra High Voltage (UHV) Transmission is the Renewable Energy Interstate.

My thoughts actually involve more, smaller generation systems rather than fewer mega generation systems. Local generation leads to less transmission losses, and lower vulnerability, to large scale outages if one system goes down.

No one talks about the "nuts and bolts" of some real issues we face in the future. We can hope someone is thinking and working on REAL solutions.

I completely agree with you on this.

Yes, the greenies never seem to think about the long term effects of their "solutions", should they ever be implemented.

One example is wind power. Wind power isn't "free". It removes energy from the wind; remember that in physics there is no free lunch. While it isn't an issue today, imagine the effect on weather if there were enough wind farms to power all the things currently powered with fossil fuels.

Consumed by cow farts and the like, the greenies never address the real "real problem", the fact that there are too many people demanding the goods and services the greenies find so offensive.

    Back in 1800, Malthus...

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Robert_Malthus

wrote "The power of population is indefinitely greater than the power in the earth to produce subsistence for man."

in reference to the fact that population increases geometrically while resources increase linearly.

No, I don't have a proposed solution to this but, if it's not addressed, all the arguing about cow farts isn't worth one.

The problem with a proper distributed power generation system is that there is little money for the companies to rake back into their investment.

Problem is that to many things are only linked to how much money can be pulled out of them short term instead of long term thinking. Same goes for many of our really big problems. They are solvable. There simply is not an economic incentive to doing it the better long term way.

A simple concept as Solar panels on all roofs, nation wide. Distributed generation and distributed battery banks.

    Just saying....
