I'm imagining that the Egyptian Office of Antiquities has this photo listed as a crime scene photo.

The perps are all dead by now.
And the Empire is in its dotage.
It may get returned someday (or has it already?)

You may be right, however it is probably one of the few antiquities not 'stolen' by variety of Western countries.
It was presented to the United Kingdom in 1819 by the ruler of Egypt and Sudan Muhammad Ali, in commemoration of the victories of Lord Nelson at the Battle of the Nile and Sir Ralph Abercromby at the Battle of Alexandria in 1801.
