    The older flat faced tractors like the Mack F model series, that my dad drove, did not have those front visibility issues.

    His line of sight is truthfully given. But not truthful in regards to the actual sight line of most vehicles. Most cars are between 40 and 44 inches off the ground. Trucks are 72 inches plus. So yes, a car length in front of the Semi tractor is concealed. But that's about it. I drove 10 ton for a bit years ago, and it was a bit of getting used to in regards to what I could not see. I figured a small car could almost hide in front of the hood if I was really close.
