This is a case of an alert trucker watching his 6 out of his mirrors sees the police in pursuit of another vehicle. Quickly decides that by the number of officers in the chase that this is not some ordinary traffic stop they at endeavoring in. Once the suspect attempts to overtake the trucker on the right, the truck driver actually places his rig and himself in danger when he swings wide on the turn to force the suspect into a pinch pocket. There are so many things which could have gone horribly wrong in this brave maneuver. The car could have gone under the trailer tandems crushing it, killing the suspect and or causing the trailer to overturn. in which case instead of being the hero of the moment the trucker would have become the zero, and could have been cited for a number of unsafe actions even possibly being arrested for causing a major accident. Probably would have been brought up on voluntary manslaughter charges and sued for wrongful death by the suspects kin.
The driver took a huge risk in doing what he did However what we do not know is if one of the officers communicated with the trucker by CB or other means and requested rolling road block assistance in which case would have exonerated the truck driver from any negative outcome proceedings.
In any case big KUDOS to the trucker for what he did given the possible risk factor.

It is interesting how our minds start to fill in the unknown details when we see a situation like this. So many different points of view, possibly all stemming from our widely varied life experiences. I see the situation as simply Karma.
To me, it looks like the truck driver looked up and saw all of the police racing up behind him. Then he tried to get to the right as you are supposed to do for emergency vehicles. Or possibly simply changing lanes as they diverge nearing the intersection. In either case, the fleeing driver was then a victim of karma. I am thinking the truck driver had intentionally pined the car, he would have stopped and left the car trapped so it could no longer move.
The most troubling thing to me is the incessant rambling of the helicopter news guy. When I hear news people ramble in situations like this, it makes me wonder if they get paid by the word. So they just try to say as many words as possible, without giving real thought to what they are actually trying to communicate.
However it happened, it was fun to watch!!
Funny I didn't even know there was a running dialog if you can call it that until you mentioned it. I almost never have my speakers turned on
Funny how my eyes only zoomed in on the rear of the vehicle. the same analogy would apply though possibly even more so with only a single axle in the rear but what removed the skin from the door was most likely what looks like supports for a lift gate
