The most important part was in spite of all of your minor and a couple major problems you got the job done. learned things you may not have known and next time this needs done again you have a setup which will allow you to duplicate your results

Looks like if you make a few different sizes of holders, you could start a small knife sharpening business on the side! (Side of what is up to you!)
