you just need to bolt (steel) jar lid under shelf. It is a very convenient storage for small items. They keep items visible and save a lot of space.

When my "shop" was in the house I had about 30 or so similar storage containers over the work bench. I still miss them, the ceiling in my shop now is over 8 feet making them impractical.
But have you ever dropped a jar, full of small components? I have. Picking out the pieces to keep, avoiding glass splinters, is very annoying! And you would end up with it all over your nice lathe.. I have plastic jars, but prefer them to be placed on shelves. I really do not like to be negative, so apologies.
