Our Great Dane Nelson needed physical therapy after his Femoral Head Removal surgery (needed due to a congenital defect that left spurs in his hip joint that destroyed the joint). His therapy included an underwater treadmill that was made for animal therapy. The therapist told me that they made ones big enough to fit a horse. I recently saw that same dog-sized unit marketed a a new invention for humans. The only change was the logo.
It was very beneficial to Nelson's recovery. I could see the improvement every session until he graduated to a dry treadmill and out of therapy, and pool therapy is a thing, so I can imaging these becoming more popular.
