As pictured, the above Urban Arrow made Tender pickup cost just over $13k USD... but the manufacturer's website claims they're only available in Europe ( I was able to find a U.S. retailer in California). The "bike" can carry a front payload of 660 lbs. They have a beefier flatbed version (the 2500) that has a total payload capacity (incl. rider) of 1100 lbs. for just shy of $10k USD. The dual battery option is extra cost.

The idea is good. The manufacturing cost is a little over the top.

What gets me is that every developed country has always relied on immigrants for cheap labour. I am first generation born in Canada. There are people that are willing to work for less because they have no other choices. Simple fact of life. It's the same in Europe to. So small businesses get a good work crew together and everyone survives. How can this thing cost so much to buy? It the battery Tesla sized? Don't think so.

I see possibly 2 k for the build of the vehicle another 1.5k for the motor and any electronics and whatever a Tesla battery costs

A reasonably sized battery for this would be between 3 and 4k Get you around for a day. So say $8 - 10k not crazy money for something that is pretty low cost after you buy it.

I put over $200 a week of gas into my little Tacoma. Seriously looking at a sparky hatchback. And doing the math.

The wifey & I spent $6500 USD for a well cared for, used Honda Fit... half of what one of these Arrows cost new, and we get ~44 mpg on the hwy. and a lot more utility value for the dollar. My only regret in this purchase is we got the base model, which doesn't come with cruise control... that only comes in the sport model. I really appreciate cruise control.
