A Very naughty monkey
Hi all,
I have just fulfilled a life long dream and bought a mini-lathe and mini-milling machine. This brings me full circle in that I started my working life as a marine fitter in the RAN and after 30 years of doing many other things I am back playing arounds with machining and fitting.
I have been building model stirling engines from tincans for the past 2 years and looking forward to building more precise models, and even hope to build a few steam engines.
It has been 30 years since I used a lathe or mill with any seriousnous and I have a lot of re-learning ahead of me. Looking foreward to sharing in the collective wisdom of this forum.

Would be nice to see some pictures of your tin can engines.

Hi Naughtimonki,
Welcome!
Those model engines sound absolutely fascinating - let's see 'em! Meanwhile, have a look at our Machining category for a start.
