I really don’t understand the purpose.
I'm not a gamer, and I don't know what game they're playing, but I assume they're collecting in-game items and currency that can be exchanged for real money.
So, I had to ask my son on this one. He believes that there may be a couple of things going on here. One may be that they have automated players to level up the characters so that they can then sell the accounts. This is basically buying a character that already has certain abilities and experience points that can only be gained from time spent playing the game.
The other thing he thought is it may be at the game developer's location where they are inserting bots into games to fill the games up so there are other players present instead of one having to wait until a certain number of people join before a match can begin.
