Volkswagen camper fifth wheel - photo

I really hope the king pin weight is a lot higher than I suspect it is. Judging by the extreme short wheel base and the amount of trailer overhang it would be next to impossible to to keep that thing from road walking even empty

Frank S, I agree, I'm not sure why they would have put the trailer wheels so far forward. I'm thinking this one is more for looks than function. As in, it looks good at a car show.
Good luck backing it up too!

I don't think it would receive many positive comments at a car show once anyone noticed the axle placement

It just doesn't look right with where the wheels are at.

It looks like there is a bumper hitch that makes the trailer wheels steer so the van and trailer are always in line. Is that possible?

Hard to tell, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to do that but it would be possible
What is even more conceivable about the location of the trailer axle would be if it were slip rail mounted and could be slid to the back for highway driving and slid all the way forward for tight maneuvering

I think it's a photoshop job.
The camper is too close to the cab, and the camper is too close to the back bumper. Plus the vertical clearance between the camper and bed would result in interference when crossing a steep driveway entrance.
The lack of apparent balance and the very small wheel size just appear to be off scale, and the trailer color does not match the truck as I would expect a custom job to do.
There also is a lack of landing gear to disconnect the trailer from the truck.
