Walking canes
Attachment 32114
There was a thread recently showing the complete restoration of a carpenter’s brace, which I found interesting.
We have a great many braces donated, and sadly, many of them have to be scrapped, since only the best will be sent out to Africa.
I usually retain the chucks and the pads, straighten what’s left and add to my stock.
The chucks I use for the pommels of walking sticks.Attachment 32115

Some of the canes are malacca, salvaged from drain rods.
I epoxied marbles inside the chucks for decorative effect.
Not sure what to do with all the “buns”, however.
