I'd worry hanging it from a hose that it would fly around, guess the output pipe is big enough to lower the "thrust".

I made something like that for a guys outdoor pond. He went on business trips for a couple of weeks to a month and while the fish had plenty of food the pond level would drop a lot. Worked great for years the last I heard.
