What else do you do??
Non shop or work related activities? We like to camp in the mountains. We have a 40 foot pull behind, but I prefer my slide in camper. I also fish for record catfish. My Great Grandfather has the west Virginia State record and has since the late 1950's, I work on the NC record every chance I get. Here is a before and after of my killer catfish attack boat and a couple of the many bigger (just not big enough) cat's I have caught. I don't keep any fish, they all get returned to grow bigger and to give you an idea of the size, I am 6 feet tall. Jonathan

I never knew those fish got that big! Wow! I have seen some fake news articles circulated and photos with big fish always make me wonder how big they really get(Here is one for example Poland fishermen caught a huge catfish remains of Nazi officer within the abdominal | Shenzhen Buzz )
My pastimes change fairly often, usually I am always working on alternative incomes. Eventually I hope to build a tube frame rear engine fun car from the ground up. When that is done I hope to combine realism painting with wood work in some new ways. I have always done a lot of arts, starting with drawing, painting, sculpting, and have started dabbling in photography, wood and metal welding/shaping.

I love fried catfish, and have had the occasion to try Thai catfish salad. It was pretty good. But those are HUGE catfish! Good of you to be returning them after documenting your catch. About how old would those things be?

In response to your original question: "What else do you do...?" ....we still butcher our own beef and pork. Usually as many as 8 hogs and sometimes 4 beef per year. Last year was a light one, we only butchered 5 hogs and 3 beef. The only thing we changed is that we no longer kill and scald our own hogs ourselves since we have a local shop that kills, scalds, scrapes, guts, halves and hangs them overnight for 20 bucks a head. (What a DEAL). Then we pick 'em up and process them all the way down to rendering lard for soapmaking, sausage making and all the normal cuts...pork chops/tenderloin, pork steaks, ham, bacon, pork roasts, ham steaks etc. etc. etc.
We still kill, skin, gut and hang beef in our cooler for a week before processing. Then there's the tractor thing.... but we won't start on THAT yet..... oh yeah, the motorcycles...yet another direction to go...
Oh yeah, I forgot to add : AWESOME catfish !!!!
