I don't see any advantage over the standard 4 way lug wrench.

Needs little effort to undo and tighten nuts as its geared down and torqued against the other nut. Ideal for women drivers too. A neat idea.

It has gear reduction via a planetary gearset. Something like 4:1 ratio. It's only meant to loosen the lug nuts. Once they're loose a regular lug wrench is used.

I bought one of these off ebay back when it was mostly used items. I'd never seen such a thing before and I dig clever novelty tools, so had to have it. It's like new, well-made, looks really cool, came with a zippered nylon bag, and I'll never actually use it. Why? Because the case is thin cast aluminum. It may be fine under load, but cast aluminum can get a bit explody. Someday I might get brave enough to try it in a real-life scenario.

Actually, this one has a 15:1 ratio

When changing the tires on a M35 duce & a half you needed this puppy the inner tube held the square inner nut while the outer geared tube loosened the outer nut

I was looking at buying one of these torque multipliers for my girlfriend last Christmas. She doesn't have enough upper body strength or weight to get lugs broken loose. I got her a 24" breaker bar instead, but she still has to jump on it.

The breaker bar could serve as better a defensive weapon than the torque multiplier.
