Gee . . . My Cam Dr. program runs on DOS and 5.5" floppies. I hope to resurrect it soon. Can't remember the name of my first S-100 computer with CP/M OS and 4K ram. But I do remember buying my first 64K Godbout memory board! With that much memory and the Diablo, dual disk, 12" floppy, I thought I was set for life!

I just last week purchased a $4,600.00 perpetual non expiring license for a cad program that comes with 1year automatic upgrade to the 2024 version it is for 2 work stations but here is the thing it says if I create an administrator's image at installation, I can transfer it to a new machine should I decide mine needs replacing if I don't create the image then the only way to transfer my program to a new machine is to pay another sum for the ability to download it to the new machine. Without the image there are certain source codes in my machine which will not copy to another machine, in older times I used to buy the program and it came in 2 or 3 CDs then it bloated to requiring 2 DVDs now the only way to get it is to download it since it had grown in size to the point it would take half a dozen DVDs or a rather large capacity thumb drive which they will no longer consider producing since it was too easy to just install on any machine anywhere any timeOriginally Posted by mlochala
