Maybe she learned that when the wheels are rolling the feet belong on the pegs otherwise you have severely limited control.
Had an officer try to give me a ticket one time for failure to come to a complete stop because I didn't drop my feet to the ground so to settle the argument I drove back to the next place to make a legal U turn on my Norton commando, about a 1/8 of a mile nailed the bike but didn't hoist the front wheel roared up to the stop sign at near the speed limit locked down on the brakes just in time to stop before the white line sat there until 2 cars went by from the cross street then pulled up to the patrolman and sat there waiting for him to hand my license back and never once did I drop my feet. All he could say was have a nice day while he wiped the egg off his face. I always looked at it this way you either could ride or you couldn't and if you still hadn't placed both feet on the pegs or running board by the time your wheels made a complete revolution then you needed more practice before taking to the streets
Never try to tell me it can't be done
