If you live in bear country you should lock your vehicle and never leave anything that might smell good to a bear including suntan lotion and hand sanitizer. Now that bear won't leave until it eats all of those apples...

Ha, yep, it does look like the bear is heading back for the apples. Nice of her to leave a snack for it.

They have several warning displays scattered through the exhibits at Yosemite that are the remnants of car doors 'opened' by bears going after goodies left in cars. Most involve the window frames pried away at 90° to let them get a better grip on the door to essentially tear it off of the car. All casual like, from the footage they've captured; just walking up and opening it like you or I would open it normally. In her case it was probably better to leave the door open! At least it doesn't have to be replaced now.

Wife and I were sitting in the parking lot at Yosemite years ago in our H1 HUMMER, little green Honda Civic parked next to us, with the back seat folded down, and a green Coleman metal cooler there.
Black bear comes along, looks in the Honda , sees the cooler, rips the driver's door off completely by sticking his claws between the glass and the top of the door channel, reaches in with a paw, slaps the back of the driver's seat hard enough to break it so it folded forward, grabs the handle of the cooler, drags it out the door, swats the latch and starts chowing down on the hot dogs and hamburgers inside. Wife filmed it all. When he was finished, he turned and looked at us for the first time, I fired up the Diesel in the HUMMER and he took off.
They are very strong, very clever and can be dangerous.
