That wasn't a cable breaking that was a man lift toppling because the boom was elevated too close to being vertical while the turret body was positioned at 90° to the car body without outriggers. He is lucky indeed that the boom caught on something preventing the platform from crushing him. His fall arresting safety line did its job though and was somehow the perfect length for him to simply disconnect it a walk away. He'd better not buy a lottery ticket today because he has used up his daily allotment of good luck.
