from all accounts, the design of the IS-3 was revolutionary at the time, and had it seen combat, would have been a game changer. The inverted V glacis plate at the front, and the sloped sides of the turret was unseen prior to the Berlin victory parades, and western observers freaked when they saw the IS-3.
