    YAGR (Yet Another Grinder Rest)

Thanks to JimmysCanal on Youtube for the idea of using a piece of alumin(i)um extrusion as a way to move the grinder rest between the wheels. It also allows to easily remove the rest to change wheels, fit wire wheels or buffing wheels. As I only had one piece of the ally extrusion, which luckily happened to be just the right length, the rest also fits on a couple of magnetic bases so I can move the rest between all three bench grinders.

What a great idea with the quick mount dismount magnet setup! Consider this idea stolen
    Thanks

I copied the idea too, but I couldn't remember where from when I posted yesterday, hence no credit, so I'll put that right now.

Harold Hall (Metaler on here) used the idea on his simple and advanced grinder rests. Grinding Rest, Mounting method

I made his simple grinder rest a few years ago and might have a go at his advanced one when/if I gain the ability to machine the dovetails.

I think we've all probably copied some good ideas from Metaler. Here are all of his builds: Metaler's Homemade Tools.
