DESCRIPTION:
Homemade drill press I-beam intended to elevate and secure small workpieces. Constructed on a base of 3/4" MDF, to which a 2x4 hardwood riser block is attached. Plywood upper platform directly supports the workpiece.

That is a brilliant strategy.  I've done some pretty un-elegant things to accomplish this...maybe I'll try this idea...seems better.
