Homemade slab-type fly cutter machined from cast iron. Equipped with a double-sided tungsten carbide insert.

one thing to note with that insert is that it has no front relief (angle between the top and bottom of the tip) so the insert seat/ holder has to be inclined by -5 or so degrees relative to cutting edge. On this build it looks like that might be achieved by rotating the holder so that the top of the insert is presented to the work at an angle. If not, the heel of the insert will rub.
