Homemade Twin-Screw Bench Vise

DESCRIPTION:
Homemade twin-screw bench vise constructed from red oak 1x4s and handmade wood screws. A ledge in the rear enables the vise to be secured to the table surface with holdfasts.

Lovingly made. A guy like me would have just settled for steel screws.

It's fun to find one of my projects here!  Some quick corrections to the "description" above.  The vise is made of 6/4 hickory. The back ledge is made from 4/4 red oak. The screws were turned from hickory as well and were tapped with a 1 1/2" Woodcraft tap box.  I did three posts about building this vise on my Blog and you can read them here:  http://insidetheworkshop.blogspot.com/search/label/Moxon%20Vise This has become one of my favorite shop bench aids.
