I did that some time ago but found that the supplied oil was a bit too thick, so I thinned it down with kerosine, it worked then. One thing still upset me which was that the pump now worked the wrong way. I tried several lever and crank options but none were fully successful. The way I eventually solved the problem was by modifying another small jack to act as a pressure source. Simply replacing the piston with a dummy and taking a pressure pipe to the turned jack with a return from reservoir to reservoir.
