having worked on a few hundred vw engines , (i still have 200 or so) i would not make a stand like this,as it does not allow the engine halves to come apart til the case is unbolted from the mount .... so the dis-assembly and reassembly must be done on a bench or floor . a simple change in the mount makes a BIG difference!!!
