This 1991 Comanche, built by ajamison on 4x4Pirate, is the builder's 7th Jeep.

The Comanche started out fairly reasonable, then turned into a really interesting build. The builder removed the doors, added 42" tires, and built a flatbed for the spare tire, fuel cell, and toolbox.

The plan changed when the 4.0 engine threw a con rod during a creek crossing (which made for some interesting pics!). The builder had planned to eventually replace it with a LM7 Vortec 5.3. However, after some persuasion, he decided on a more formidable powerplant: a Cummins 4BT.
