Nothing new here. Just made a typical hand stamp guide using some aluminum and two magnets.
Helps to keep all the characters lined up. This one is for flat stock.

I am not kidding: I was literally YESTERDAY wanting something like this to stamp steel types into the custom chef's knives I make, and couldn't even figure out the right search terms for it so I gave up. Opened my e-mail and saw this and my jaw (figuratively this time :-) dropped to the floor. The gods must be smiling on me - thanks so much! Andrew

Why didn't I think of this !
A simple idea but a very handy one indeed.
When I saw this I HAD to make a copy, which I did today in my workshop for use with my set of 5/16" square shank letter & number types.
