    Hello from Finland

    Hi!

Finally I decided to register after following this forum for some years. I am a retired mechanical engineer - very busy with my own projects now. Projects lately finalised are a off-road utility vehicle based on a Suzuki Samurai for forrest work and snowplowing, a forest bogey trailer with hydraulic tilting and a tire lift to ease change of heavy off-road tires. A now ongoing project is the finalization of a towable wood chipper with hydraulic feed.

Besides mechanical projects I am also interested in electronics, microcontrollers, computers and photography.

Hi ruxu - welcome to HomemadeTools.net

The tire lift looks good! Looking forward to checking out your wood chipper build.

    Hi Jon!

You have to wait for some weeks - the chipper was already fully assembled with manual feed but it didn't work to my satisfaction so I made some redesign to make the feed hydraulic. What I still have to do is,

    - make the safety bar and some component mountings
    - do the hydraulic piping
    - make the intelligent feed control
    - do the electrical wiring
    - test it
    - take it apart, paint it and reassemble it
    - take it to the vehicle inspection and re-register it from a light trailer to a towable machine to be able to legally tow it on the road

That was a long list - some weeks hmm....
