    Smile 1200' Garage build

    Hi all.

My wife and I are recently retired and just moved from Portland, Or (109' amsl) to Florissant, Co (9000' amsl) last April and bought a house with no garage. And for me having no garage is just unacceptable.

I was able to start the build process last June 2015 with permits and site prep. I had to cut down 27 Ponderosa trees to make room for the 1200' foot print. It has 12' 5" high walls to make room for the motor home, two garage doors one 12' x 12' and one 9' x 9' roll ups. I framed the walls and made two wall jacks to raise them with.
I hired three guys and a crane to set the 8 & 12 pitch trusses. The snow stopped me from putting the sheet metal on and the concrete lap siding is sitting on the ground waiting for my building wrap inspection.
    Photos will follow soon.

    Hi Joe,

    Welcome!

What a garage! I'd love to have your ceiling height; I'd install a four-post lift so fast it would make my wife's head spin!

You're well along in your construction project, but you might still enjoy perusing our companion site GarageBuilds.net for ideas.

Please do post those pics when you have a chance - we'd love to follow along!

That garage you're building would certainly qualify as a happy place. Looking forward to seeing it!
