16 inch slip roller

After getting beat up by this project for a week, it's finally DONE! I thought I'd be posting this 2 days ago but it was just one thing after another. In the end, I won the battle and the war. lol

This was inspired by one I saw on youtube. There are many different variety's of these but I liked this design the most. Credit goes to Mistry MakeTool on youtube. See the video of his build here: (copy and paste URL)

I made only a few changes from his, mostly trying to keep the workings more to the outside of the roller area so nothing would get in the way. I can roll a 16 inch piece of material through as shown. It will roll tubes and also cones/funnels. (roller can be tightened more on one side to achieve that)

For tightly rolled tubes that are hard to remove, the top roller can lift out by removing the 4 top cap screws, then the piece can slide off the roller.

Some of the materials used:

1-1/2 schedule 80 pipe (schedule 80 is a little over kill but I had it on hand)
1/2 inch steel plate
1-1/2 x 1-1/2 x 3/16 angle iron
5/8 threaded rod and coupler nuts
(6) 6003ZZ sealed bearings
(2) 35A12H 12 tooth sprockets
#35 chain
Rustoleum Maui Blue paint
