The Daimler Petroleum Reitwagen is considered to be the world's first true motorcycle. It was built by German engineers Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach in 1885 and was powered by the world's first four-stroke gasoline engine.

That looks like a fantastic looking machine. I wonder if it survived. Building a replica would be a great project.
