I was in the process of elaborating on my limited experience of the industry and tell people about this wonderful little aviation company which started building these suits in the 1970's - Slingsby Aviation Limited. There suit is here 1979 - OMAS SPIDER Atmospheric Diving Suit - Graham Hawkes (British) - cyberneticzoo.com
Slingsby Engineering Limited which started out as an aviation company and then expanded into deep sea intervention and submersibles

who is sadly no longer with us. A guy you wouldn't really think of unless someone started a thread on Newtsuit's. Its always humble discreet individuals who make the biggest mark on this planet but remain unsung hero's. Ask anyone under 30 if they know what a newtsuit is or who Jacques Cousteau is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacques_Cousteau. There would never have been the technological advances in diving without Jacques. Its easy to take it all for granted when you don a diving helmet.

I just realised the significance of 1907.
Marconi hadn't invented radio communication and film cameras were not exactly build for underwater use by this date in history. He's literally got lights, fish and himself, chances are the task on the sea bed wasn't designed for human/sub sea intervention.
