That top picture leads me to believe that vehicle is front wheel drive. The French military purchased a number of these. Not sure I would want to purchase a front wheel drive off road vehicle.

So I was looking up these vehicles, and went down the Wikipedia rabbit hole. Turns out Citroen made a 4x4 variant of the 2CV. How you ask? By installing a transfer case and additional driveshaft? Nope. One engine in front, one engine in the rear.
Sounds like something they'd do.
