My first wife put a cup of water in our first microwave and wound up in the hospital with 3rd degree burns and lacerations when the cup exploded in her gloved hand.
Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products

We had a very early Amanda Range microwave “hand-me-down” from the in-laws which was a veritable beast and hernia risk when moving it. For all its robust design it was still hampered by a pretty small volume. I can’t remember what we did with it, but it’s probably still out there, still working away for someone.

The Litton microwave my wife and I got as a wedding gift in 1973 is still going strong, no issues in 53 years. Weighs a ton, but reliable, was a commercial duty one intended for restaurants, my in laws owned a construction company, they gave it to us.

When I was a kid, I remember going to visit my grandfather when he was in the VA hospital. In the room with the vending machines, they had a Litton Industries microwave oven. It's the first one I ever saw. It may have been like yours.

When I was 16, the father of my cute German girlfriend was a top engineer at Litton and was instrumental in the domestication of microwave ovens...
