This seems to me to be a long winded way to made a simple bracket. Regardless of the method to make it, the prime requirement of a bracket for a measuring instrument is RIGIDITY and low thermal expansion, for that you need to make it in steel not plastic.

Both 3D scanning and printing are great technologies but there are times when old fashioned simplicity beats all.
