    40 Inch Slip Roller

This is the 40" Slip Roller I just finished. The main challenge was that the main rollers are 42" X 2 1/2" solid steel and my lathe only has a 30" useable capacity.

We believe we're gliding down the highway
When in fact we're slip rollin' away

Any details on the build? Plans?
Fun anecdotes on how you scavenged two monstrous bars or near cylinders of stainless?

He can't say or the owner of the excavator may figure out where his hydraulic cylinders went.

Interesting. So how do you machine a 42” roller on a 30” lathe? Some kind of bed extension? Cheers.

Getting around 12" insufficient bed length is tricky. Inquiring minds want to know. A follow rest and compound swung to right can only reach so far.

Joker mentality employed Professor Frink's Debigulator to attain manageable size, complete machining, following up with Professors Rebigulator. Unfortunately, not readily available outside realm of cartoonery.
