4x6 bandsaw outrigger and stock stop

Hi All
One of the issues with the saw is the support of the stock being cut. Once cut it falls off and hits the ground. With the coolant tray also being fitted beneath the drop zone, I didn’t want heavy material dropping onto it and damaging the sheet metal tray.

So my solution was to make an adjustable outrigger and incorporate the machine stop. The outrigger in conjunction with a roller stand will prevent longer stock from falling off the saw.

Two lengths of bar which are interchangeable to increase the length of the outrigger. So I don’t lose it or cut it up for a job, either one when not in use is stored on side of saw with terry clips.

Stop can be folded out of the way when not required.

The stop can be used for short stock and placed the other side of the outrigger for longer stock

Terrific build, thehomeengineer. Hats off, literally.

Stock support/ outfeed table, call it what you will. Many larger machines lack a decent version, and what pass for non-binding stops is deplorable.

Meanwhile; adjustable stock support adds one more irreplaceable use. Clearance when sectioning castings and weldments. They have ears, brackets, shafts etc that usually impede what should be simple work.

I agree with TM51I have an adjustable stop on 2 of my band saws but your idea of an adjustable outfeed support is top shelf. Making your stop so ity can be placed inboard for real short cuttings or outboard for longer cutoffs really increases its range

Have used a setup like this o two of my chop saws for a few decades. It is awesome. Great idea adapting it to a cutoff bandsaw. More projects for me to tackle!
