i remember working at a sewage treatment plant ,going into the compressor building, there were 6 units (only 2-3 running at a time),a 5000 HP electric motor hooked to a turbine type compressor which fed air to giant tanks where the air came up from the bottom into the tank,,each motor was the size of a large refrigerator,the compressor (half the size of a large pickup truck),every year one (motor)would be taken out and sent off for a 50,000$ minor overhaul.
