Seagulls do that in moist areas to make worms come up to the surface much the same as an earthworm farmer will rhythmically slap or pat the ground to check on his crop of worms without digging or shocking them to the surface.

It may not sound Irish to you and me or anyone else but they must get some pleasure out of hearing each other squawk and screech and caw

Bit disappointed, I thought I was going to be getting a lesson in cutting threads acoustically, instead I see a machine that replicates the sound of the persons feet that carried it there.
